Deep Sea Diver

So I’m still stuck on Seattle and love the music that comes from this place. When my boyfriend and I were driving to Port Angeles for a day trip we were amazed by the Seattle radio stations. They played some good stuff!! Not the same song over and over again like on the regular Top 40 stations or stations like The Beat (Main Stream Hip Hop). So in this blog I’m featuring the band Deep Sea Diver, a Seattle based Indie Rock/Folk band. The bands first full length album History Speaks was self-released and debuted in February 2012. Lead singer Jessica Dobson was a solo artists at first and signed with Atlantic Records when she was just 19 years old. She recorded two albums with Atlantic but wasn’t satisfied with the final products so Atlantic shelved the two albums. She then recorded a solo album under the name Deep Sea Diver and later brought in John Raines on bass and Peter Mansen on drums. In February 2012, Jessica also became a member of the well known band The Shins but she left the band in 2013 because she wanted to spend more time working on and performing her own music. You can view Deep Sea Diver tour dates and more at their website www.thedeepseadiver.com

You can listen to their new album Secrets here

Hope you like them as much as I do. Enjoy!

  1. Thanks very much for following my blog, which is much appreciated.
I do write a lot about music on my blog, but mostly from way back, Soul, Motown, etc. As I am 65, and live in England, I am not really up to speed with modern American music outside of the mainstream.
Best wishes from Norfolk. (The original one, not the one in Virginia) Pete.
