Deep Sea Diver

So I’m still stuck on Seattle and love the music that comes from this place. When my boyfriend and I were driving to Port Angeles for a day trip we were amazed by the Seattle radio stations. They played some good stuff!! Not the same song over and over again like on the regular Top 40 stations or stations like The Beat (Main Stream Hip Hop). So in this blog I’m featuring the band Deep Sea Diver, a Seattle based Indie Rock/Folk band. The bands first full length album History Speaks was self-released and debuted in February 2012. Lead singer Jessica Dobson was a solo artists at first and signed with Atlantic Records when she was just 19 years old. She recorded two albums with Atlantic but wasn’t satisfied with the final products so Atlantic shelved the two albums. She then recorded a solo album under the name Deep Sea Diver and later brought in John Raines on bass and Peter Mansen on drums. In February 2012, Jessica also became a member of the well known band The Shins but she left the band in 2013 because she wanted to spend more time working on and performing her own music. You can view Deep Sea Diver tour dates and more at their website www.thedeepseadiver.com

You can listen to their new album Secrets here

Hope you like them as much as I do. Enjoy!

Lemolo

Two weeks ago I went on vacation with my boyfriend to Seattle, WA. I love my hometown (the dirty ATX) but Seattle was such a perfect getaway. I honestly can’t wait to go back. Because of my new found love for Seattle I thought I would blog about a great band from there; Lemolo. Meagan Grandall formed Lemolo in 2009. The band name Lemolo was inspired by her childhood neighborhood of Lemolo Shore Drive. They have been recognized as one of the best bands in Seattle by the Seattle Magazine, Best New Band by City Arts Magazine, and they were recently named one of the Top Bands Rocking Seattle Music. Lemolo has had many sold out performances in Seattle and have toured the United States and Europe with much success. Their album Red Light Return has been very successful. They recently announced that they will be playing the 2017 Lightreal Music Festival hosted by the University of Washington on May 7, 2017. If you’re in WA you should definitely go check it out! You can hear the song “Letters” here. For tour dates and more check out their website at https://lemolomusic.com/

Thanks for reading! Check back often for more bands you’ve never heard of.

Bayonne

Due to growing up and living in the live music capitol of the world it seemed appropriate to start this blog experience with a local artist from my hometown. In 2011, Roger Sellers started his career using his birth name as his stage name. He released his first album Moments in 2011 on Pau Wau Records. The next year he self released an eight track album where a new song was released each week for eight weeks. In 2014 he released his third full length album called Primitives. In late 2015 he changed his name to Bayonne. Under the name Bayonne he re-released his third full length album Primitives on Punctum Records. Bayonne has previously stated that “even though he uses musical equipment during performances that he does not consider himself a DJ.” In 2016, Bayonne was given great news from EA Sports saying that they would feature his song “Appeals” on the FIFA 17 soundtrack. His most popular tracks are “Fallss”, “Living Room”, and “Spectrolite.” You can hear “Fallss” now Here! For tour dates and more info check out Bayonne at www.bayonnemusic.com
